March Madness

As everyone is preparing for tournament time, the term March Madness has taken a very different meaning for my time spent at work.

Sophomore ('10-'11): Was named FAU Female Athlete of the Year...was the Sun Belt Conference champion in the 400-yard individual medley...also finished as runner-up in both the 200-yard individual medley and 200-yard the Georgia Tech Invitational, broke the FAU school record in both the 200-meter IM (2:00.76) and in the 400-meter IM (4:15.20)...was named Sun Belt Conference Swimmer of the Week four times...won multiple times in seven different races...had a stretch of six straight wins in the 500-yard freestyle and five straight in the 100-yard breaststroke...during seven meets throughout the season, placed first in three different events.

Freshman ('09-'10): Placed first in 200- and 400-yard individual medley and second in 200-yard breaststroke in the Sun Belt Conference championships...also was a member of four relay teams that recorded top-five finishes...set a conference championship meet record in the 200-yard individual medley, a record set by FAU Athletic Hall of Famer Noemi Lung that had stood for 17 years...set freshman school records in the 1,000-yard freestyle (in her first collegiate race) and 400-yard individual medley (at conference meet)...was a provisional qualifier for the NCAA championships in the 200-yard breaststroke...named Sun Belt Conference Female Swimmer of the Week three times...was team's leading scorer during season.

Personal: Accounting major...daughter of Peter Pal Bucz and Katalin Buczne...her younger sister, Agnes, has joined the swimming team for the 2012-13 season.
