Tryouts will take place at the FAU Arena

April 2, 2013

BOCA RATON, FL – Florida Atlantic University’s cheerleading team will host tryouts in the FAU Arena "The Burrow" on Friday, May 3rd – Sunday, May 5th. Head Coach Heather Henderson will take 20-25 team members for the all-girl and coed team. Current cheerleaders are required to tryout each year.

Henderson is looking for individuals who will represent the “all around” cheerleader for Florida Atlantic. Skills are important but Henderson will also focus on how potential members carry themselves and the way they communicate with the coaching staff and other students trying out for the team.

The team cheers at all home and away football games, men’s and women’s home basketball games and home volleyball matches. Cheerleading also performs at the Conference USA and NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournament as well as a variety of community events and fundraisers throughout the year.

The schedule for tryout days is as follows:

  • Friday, May 3: 6-8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 4: 9-1:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 5: 10 a.m.

All responsibilities and expectations of the program will be discussed on the first day of tryouts. For more information on tryouts CLICK HERE or email Coach Henderson at hcoker@fau.edu
