BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's cheer team participated in the UCA College Cheerleading Nationals on Saturday, January 16 and Sunday, January 17 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando.

The weekend event is the largest College Cheerleading Competition in the world. FAU received an invitation for the event after submitting a video demonstrating the team's top tumbling and stunting skills, as well as the team leading the fans in a traditional FAU cheer. FAU scored a perfect 15 on the video, which took more than three months to produce and offered them the right to advance to nationals. Small Co-ed was in fourth place heading into finals where the finished 9th in the nation. All Girl finished 12th in the nation

Heather Henderson, head cheer coach and choreographer; lead the team to nationals this year. Since Henderson's arrival at FAU, the squad has grown from a 16 member all-girl team to more than 40 members divided into a co-ed and all-girl teams
