FAU Cheer and Dance Teams to Compete at Nationals

Florida Atlantic University's cheer and dance teams will compete in their respective national competitions beginning Friday, January 13 through Sunday, January 15 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.

The cheerleading squad will be among the 20 teams competing in the UCA semifinal round in Small Co-ed Division I. They will look to build on last year's ninth place finish when they take the mat on Saturday, January 14 at 11:16 a.m.. Among the teams competing in their division are Hofstra University, the three-time defending national champions, as well as fellow Sun Belt Conference members ULM.

Later that afternoon, the dance team will compete at 1:40  p.m. in the UDA Division I-A Hip-Hop semifinal round. There are 23 teams vying for the championship in this division, including the University of Memphis, last year's winners. Other teams competing include UCF, ULM and Florida State University. Should both or either teams advance to the finals, they will compete on Sunday, January 15, with times to be determined.
