Florida Atlantic named former team captain Paige Wier as head cheerleading coach in July of 2017.
Wier was a member of the FAU cheer team for five years, through 2012. Twice, the Owls made it to UCA Nationals, once with the all-girl team and once with the co-ed team. She graduated from FAU in 2014 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.
Throughout her collegiate career, Wier also coached at two all-star gyms, working with cheerleaders ages 3-18 years old. Since, she has continued her coaching career as an All-Star cheerleading coach at Cheer Florida All-Stars, as well as at St. Andrew’s School in Boca Raton. She is also currently a certified behavioral therapist, working with children 2-10 years old that are diagnosed with autism.
Wier has cheered since she was 10 years old, starting at Rock Solid All-Stars. She is credentialed by USASF, levels 1-4, and currently resides in Coconut Creek.
