Boca Raton, Fla. -

Florida Atlantic University's Student-Athlete Academic Center (SAAC) will recognize National Student-Athlete Day by joint hosting a "Field Day" at A.D. Henderson Elementary School, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton, on Friday, April 11, from 12:30-2 p.m.

FAU student-athletes from all sports will be participating in the event for kindergarten and first graders. The Owl student-athletes will put the kids through a round of different athletic-related stations, followed by a discussion on the importance of education and staying active.

National Student-Athlete Day recognizes the accomplishments of student-athletes nationwide who excel in the classroom, on the playing fields, and in their communities. It was created by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS) and the Northeastern University Center for the Study of Sport in Society, with partnership from the NCAA and the National Federation of State High School Associations.
