Cooney Served at Baseball's Helm 21 Seasons; Williams Leads Owls Basketball in Career Points Scored
Shontavia Williams ended her career as the FAU women's all-time leading scorer. Williams captured the mark on March 9, 2006, in the Atlantic Sun Tournament quarterfinals. She finished her outstanding four-year career with 1,466 points. Williams also captured the all-time record for free throws made in a career (394). Williams finished her career ranked second all-time in rebounds with 615 and was also among the top 10 in field goals made (490, 3rd), steals (191, 6th), three-point field goals made (92, 7th) and free-throw percentage (72.3%, 9th). She was named to the A-Sun All-Freshman First Team in 2002-03, All-Conference Second Team her junior year (2004-05) and made All-Conference First Team her senior season (2005-06). Williams also helped lead the Owls an Atlantic Sun Tournament title and appearance in the 2006 NCAA Division I Tournament. Upon graduation, Williams played professionally in Germany.
