Joe Valentino is currently the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning at Florida Atlantic University. He was elevated to this position in 2014, after joining the staff as a Graduate Assistant Strength Coach in 2012.
Joe is currently the Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning Coach for football as well as the Director of Strength & Conditioning for track and field. He also serves as the Director of the Strength and Conditioning Internship Program.
Prior to joining the FAU Strength staff, he worked under head strength coach Joe Kenn, as a Student Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Carolina Panthers football team.
He spent his academic undergraduate career at James Madison University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree and majored in Kinesiology - Exercise Science. At JMU, he worked under coach Greg Werner, Lee Rowland, Callye Williams and Scott Bennett. As a Student Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach, he worked with JMU's baseball, softball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer and track & field teams. During his academic breaks from JMU, he worked alongside and learned from well-respected physical therapists, sports performance coaches, and nutritionists near his hometown in New Jersey.
While working as an FAU Graduate Assistant Strength Coach, Valentino obtained a Master's Degree through the Exercise Science and Health Promotion department. During his time at FAU, he has worked with all intercollegiate sport teams, while specifically in the role of Strength and Conditioning Director for baseball, men’s and women's cross country; men's soccer; men's and women's swimming and diving; dance and cheer, men’s and women's golf; and men's and women's tennis.
