Mitch Silverman came to Florida Atlantic in August of 2010 charged with the development and operation of the new on-campus, $70-million, multipurpose football stadium. Silverman served as the athletic department's liaison during the design, construction and post-construction phases. In addition to the stadium, Silverman has overseen the operation of all FAU athletic facilities, rental agreements, generating revenue initiatives, and planned capital improvements.

Silverman came to FAU with more than 25 years of experience within the field of Facilities Management and Operations. His experience includes involvement with numerous Intercollegiate Conferences, Higher Educational Institutions and Public Assembly facilities where the identification of revenue generating initiatives, facility operational strengths and service deficiencies as part of a comprehensive review of the facility operation were undertaken.

From 2001-2003, Mitch was promoted to the acting General Manager of the SMG managed Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago where the provision of construction due diligence coordination, project management, oversight and consulting from design through construction as the Ownership Group representative was assumed. Additional responsibilities included the development of a comprehensive facility operations policy and procedures guideline, emergency evacuation, life safety and security plans, subcontractor services development plans, event scheduling, and guest relations plans were undertaken.

Mitch was the Director of Event Services Operations for the SMG managed Louisiana Superdome and New Orleans Arena from 1998-2001 where he was responsible for the direction and planning of multiple building operations that included conversion, event booking and scheduling, guest relations, facility staffing, contract development and implementation.

From 1995-1998, Silverman was the Director of Stadium Operations for the Carolina Panthers and Ericsson Stadium of the National Football League, where the development of stadium operations plans, guest relations and sub-contractor services were undertaken.

Silverman is driven by the passion in the development and success of the student athlete and the generation of revenue, implementation and administration of efficient and green facility operations. Thriving on ensuring that the needs and expectations of the end-user are met, delivered and have been exceeded.

Silverman is a member of the Stadium Managers Association, Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA), Collegiate Athletic Operation Services (CAOS) and the National Center for Spectator Sports and Safety, He has also received training from the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA.
