Dr. Eric H. Shaw, Professor of Marketing, serves as the Florida Atlantic University NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative. An alumnus of FAU, he received his BBA in 1972, MBA in 1973, and was invited to join the FAU faculty as Instructor of Marketing during 1973-74. Dr. Shaw earned his Ph.D. at Temple University and has also taught on the faculties of Rutgers University and the University of Miami. After returning to FAU in 1982, he has served as Associate Dean of the College of Business, as Chairman of the Marketing Department, as President of the University Faculty Senate, as a member of the FAU Foundation Board of Directors, the FAU Research Board, and the FAU Board of Trustees.

Dr. Shaw has received numerous honors for teaching, prior to serving as Chair of the Marketing Department, including the Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching (three times), the Distinguished Teacher of the Year in the College of Business (twice), the Teaching Incentive Program Award, and the Faculty Talon Award. Dr. Shaw has written more than fifty articles, papers, and monographs published in leading academic journals, edited books, and international conferences. He has served as the Director of the Fourth World Marketing Congress held in Singapore, and as Program Chair of the Twelfth Conference on Historical Analysis and Research in Marketing held in Long Beach, CA. In addition to winning several competitive grants for both research and teaching, Dr. Shaw was also honored to be inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame at Florida Atlantic University, receive the Outstanding Achievement Award from the American Marketing Association, and receive the George Washington Honor Medal from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.
