Scott Dayton joined the Student-Athlete Center for Academic Excellence staff as an Academic Counselor in January 2016. He is responsible for providing academic support and monitoring academic progress for men’s cross country, men’s soccer, women’s Tennis, and women’s cross country/indoor/outdoor track student-athletes.
Prior to joining the SACAE, Dayton worked as the Assistant Academic Coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania. In that role, he worked with student-athletes across 33 teams and coordinated the tutoring program. He also worked with on-campus departments to provide academic and professional development programming for student-athletes.
For the 2011-12 academic year, Dayton was an intern at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While at UAB, he worked with a diverse group of student-athletes including members of the football, men’s basketball, and women’s rifle teams, among others.
A native of Alpharetta, Ga., Dayton received his Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education/history from Clemson University in 2008. He also earned his Master’s degree in sport management from Georgia Southern University in 2010.
