Matt Rubin joined Florida Atlantic University Athletics as the Director of New Media in October of 2012 and was promoted to Assistant Director of Marketing in the summer of 2013. Rubin currently oversees softball and men's and women's soccer and assists with both football and basketball. He assisted in bringing the 2nd and 7 foundation, a non-profit that promotes literacy, education and provides student athletes as role models to at-risk youth, to FAU in November of 2012.
Prior to coming to FAU, Rubin worked in Marines Sales and Marketing at Motion Brite/561 Sign Corporation. He was responsible for complete marketing and development of this startup company, and created and designed multiple marketing campaigns used by the company through both print and internet.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Internal Communications, with a specialization in Sports Broadcasting, from Lynn University. While there, he was Station Director and head of the Sports Department at the university's student radio station, was a member of the Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity and also the Lynn Lacrosse Club.
Rubin is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA). He is also a part of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He and his wife Nicole were married in March of 2014. In April of 2015, they welcomed their first daughter Ellia. They currently reside in Boca Raton. Rubin is a native of Columbus, Ohio.
