Debi Palermo joined Florida Atlantic University's football staff in the summer of 2009 as the program's Office Manager. In 2010 she assumed the added responsibilities as the day-to-day human resource liaison for the athletics department as well as handling the department's office managerial duties and assisting the administrative team. Palermo joined the Owls with more than 28 years of administrative experience and as a veteran of the United States Navy, where she served more than five years with duties in Orlando, Bethesda, Maryland, San Diego California, Guam and a short stay in Japan. Along with the Navy, Palermo's vast experience comes from county government in the Clerk of Court in Lake County as a Felony Court Clerk and in Broward County where she served as a Human Resource Clerk. She has also worked with a large certified public accountant, a mental health clinic, in interstate commerce trucking, engineering and insurance. The Hutchinson, KS native has lived in South Florida since 2000. She has two sons: Josef, a 2008 FAU graduate, and Nicholas who is currently attending the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. She volunteers with the Lighthouse of Broward, a non-profit organization that offers services to enhance the lives of visually impaired and totally blind children and adults. |
