Prior to FAU, Semeraro completed a two year stint with Saint Leo University where he was associate athletic director for external operations. During his tenure at Saint Leo, Semeraro focused on areas involving local community engagement, game environment, fundraising, corporate partnerships, athletic branding, special events and regional marketing. While at Saint Leo he oversaw the implementation of the new fan loyalty program called "ROARwards" program, created an all-sports pass, revived the Lions Kids Club, and developed a local favorite's small business sponsorship program. Under his leadership Saint Leo Athletics enhanced its brand through facility upgrades, development of a new athletic style guide, formed a partnership with Strategic Marketing Affiliates and launched a new website. Semeraro also oversaw special event initiatives that doubled profits and revamped fundraising efforts with the transition of the Green & Gold Club to the Lions Athletic Fund. He spearheaded project to form Dr. Arthur F. Kirk, Jr. Endowed Scholarship that secured over $75,000 in new pledges and donations in less than a year.
Semeraro returned to Saint Leo after he served as the assistant commissioner for external operations at the NCAA Division II Peach Belt Conference. During his time at the PBC office, he assisted in tripling the Peach Belt's corporate and championship sponsorship revenue, generated in-kind trade agreements to cut cost, oversaw championships, and created new marketing and social media initiatives to capitalize to create a "fresh" brand.
Nationally, Semeraro has been involved in serving on the NCAA Committee of Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct and the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Advisory Committee for Men's Golf. He is also active in the National Association of Athletic Development Professionals (NAADD) and National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA).
A native of Paducah, KY, Semeraro graduated from Saint Leo University with a degree in accounting where he was a two-sport student-athlete in soccer and golf. He earned an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Award and went on to earn his M.B.A. and Master's in Sports Administration from Ohio University. After graduating Ohio University, Semeraro landed a position with the NCAA Eligibility Center in Indianapolis, Ind. where helped with the transition from the Clearinghouse to NCAA Eligibility Center. He is married to the former Nicole DeBlois, the couple has a son, Jack.
