Brenda Husinka joined the Athletics Department staff in the summer of 2012 as the Associate Athletics Director for the Owl Club.
As the Club's director, Husinka plans, organizes, and implements strategies to increase annual membership and unrestricted donations to help build the University's athletic program, develop outstanding facilities and fund scholarships for FAU student athletes. She is currently rebuilding the Owl Club with an emphasis on improving the Owl Club experience.
Husinka has been with Florida Atlantic University since January 2003. In her previous role at the University, she served as the managing director of technology and innovation for the College of Engineering & Computer Science. Her responsibilities included managing the college's information technology, communications, distance learning, career services, and lab support services. In addition to overseeing building renovations of existing engineering facilities, Husinka was the college representative for southeast Florida's first new construction building which received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum Level certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Prior to working at FAU, Husinka spent more than 17 years in the information technology sector with firms including Electronic Data Systems, Pepsi Cola Latin America Division, Disney Consumer Products Latin America Division, and Cisneros Television Group.
Husinka has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan and a Master's degree in Higher Education Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership at Florida Atlantic.
