BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University will participate in College Colors Day, a national day to celebrate the kick-off of the intercollegiate athletics and the new academic year, with the promotion of traditions and the encouragement of fans to wear FAU's colors and logos on Friday, Aug. 30.
Coincidentally, the Owls' volleyball team opens the 2013 season at home with a tournament featuring FAU, Bethune-Cookman University, Jacksonville University and Southeastern Louisiana University. The tournament will take place at the FAU Arena. That evening, the FAU football team will travel to Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens where the Owls will face the University of Miami at 8 p.m.
To prepare fans to wear blue and red on Friday, the athletic department will conduct a T-shirt exchange at the Wally Sanger Center Monday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Aug. 30, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Fans can trade-in an old FAU T-shirt or a T-shirt from a different university and in return they will receive a new FAU T-shirt. All T-shirts exchanged will be donated to a nonprofit organization. Fan also will be able to purchase single-game tickets for the Saturday, Sept. 21 football season home-opener versus Middle Tennessee State University at the Center.
Tickets for the FAU-Miami game, as well as FAU 2013 football season tickets, can be purchased through the FAU Ticket Office at 1-866-FAU-Owls.
