A community service project completed by Florida Atlantic University’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) chapter is featured in the May edition of the Tri-County Humane Society Magazine. Student-athletes from several athletic teams hosted a food drive for animals in early April on the college’s Boca Raton campus.
SAAC members collected cat and dog food items, along with other items, to help animals being assisted at the area Humane Society shelter. The event was conducted in conjunction with FAU’s baseball game against the University of Miami.
“The FAU SAAC is dedicated to community outreach projects throughout the year,” Chapter President Jessica Knurick told the Tri-County Humane Society Magazine. “We thought an item drive would be the most helpful for the animals.”
