BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's athletics department honored the Director's Club members on Wednesday, March 26 with a reception in the Tom Oxley Center Founders' Lounge on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
"We're very fortunate to have these committed individuals and corporations support our mission," said Terry Mohajir, associate athletic director for external relations. "Their sustained support has allowed us to achieve much success. The Director's Club is the foundation of our annual giving program, and we look forward to growing our club."
The Director's Club is comprised of companies or individuals who understand the value of offering an athlete the opportunity to excel at their sport while earning a degree. Director's Club members provide $12,500 in scholarship assistance ¬- the cost of tuition for one-year at FAU. Each Director's Club member can choose to support an athlete who is in a particular sport or who has a specific educational goal, such as a business or pre-med major.
Members are recognized throughout the year. During the football season, Director's Club members are recognized at a special halftime presentation. Each member is presented with an embroidered FAU blazer. Members are also invited to spend time with their scholarship recipient at an informal gathering in the spring.
