The FAU Softball Team will once again compete in the FAU "Strike out Cancer" tournament this weekend at the FAU Softball Complex.

Florida Atlantic University Athletics is helping to raise money for two cancer research organizations. The money raised will help fight and promote awareness against this deadly disease.
The FAU women's basketball team, in conjunction with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) "Pink Zone" initiative, hosted National Girls and Women in Sports Day during the Owls contest against Troy University on January 7. "Pink Zone" T-shirts were sold with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and pink koozies were given away, courtesy of Service America. Service America, in a pledge matching effort with FAU Athletics, raised $2,500 for the WBCA's Kay Yow/Cancer Fund, named after the late women's basketball coach at North Carolina State University.
The FAU softball team will hold its third annual "Strike Out Cancer Tournament" Friday, February 20 through Sunday, February 22 at the FAU Softball Complex, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. Pledge cards will be available to fans to donate according to the number of strikeouts their favorite team records during the game. Fans also will be able to make a general donation for FAU Athletics' participation in the FAU "Relay for Life," which will take place Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28 at the A. D. Henderson Field, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.
The FAU softball team also will wear pink jerseys during the Sunday, February 22 game against Providence University at the FAU Softball Complex at noon to promote the "Strike Out Cancer Tournament."
