What is the Owl Club?

The Owl Club is the official organization supporting FAU Athletics. The donations received from the Owl Club members enhance the overall academic and athletic experience for our students.  More than 450 student athletes, competing in 18 intercollegiate sports at FAU, benefit from Owl Club support.  Gifts of all sizes add up and are used to fund athletics scholarships which cost more than $3.6 million per year.

As an Owl Club donor, you can take pride in knowing your contribution makes a difference as we continue to prosper at the national level in all of our sports. The FAU Athletic Department is 100% financially self-sustaining and receives no direct support from the University's General Fund or taxpayer dollars from the state. The department's reliance on private support increases each year with the cost of tuition and the need to improve and preserve aging facilities. There are many ways to give to FAU Athletics and below are just a few examples.

ANNUAL GIVING

Annual unrestricted donations to the Athletic Scholarship Fund are essential to FAU Athletics. These unrestricted gifts allow FAU to provide a first-rate education to our over 450 student-athletes. Besides the Athletic Scholarship Fund, annual gifts may also be designated to a specific sport fund.

ENDOWED FUNDS

Endowed funds are essential to the long term financial health of FAU Athletics as they provide a lasting source of support for athletic scholarships. Donors may give either outright or deferred gifts to establish these funds.

GIFTS OF APPRECIATED PROPERTY

Gifts of appreciated property provide FAU Athletics with a quick source of financial support. Stocks, bonds, mutual funds, property, real estate, and personal property are a few examples of what can be accepted as gifts. You should consult your tax advisor or the Owl Club office to discuss your planning.

GIFTS IN KIND

Donated services or items that would normally be purchased by the Athletics Department are accepted on a limited basis. All gifts-in-kind must be pre-approved by the Director of Athletics.
